Ruth Ball gained her BA Hons degree in Jewellery design from Middlesex University, London 1987. During her studies she achieved top prizes in the Royal Society of Arts Award and The Platinum Competition. 2009 Ruth was granted a bursary to study large scale enamelling through The British Society of Enamellers. In 2011 her work was Commended in the Goldsmiths Craftmanship and Design Awards. With experience from lecturing and years of enamelling for the trade Ruth was commissioned by A&C books to write about enamel techniques and methodology.
